Folks,

When you have a dragracing series like the masters the races that have been assigned to the series should first of all the participants that compete in the series.

You know this before the first race of the season. When you analize how much time its takes to perform a run for each class that competes in the series and you know the duration of the races you can determine the amount of wild cards/free slots per class per race.
The wild cards can be handed out to new racers/entrants or racers from abroad.

A Race like Hockenheim has, for me, more a destination in an international series than in the masters. When you still want to use this event as a masters race and as an international race, the organization should increase the duration of the event and/or limit the amount of racers that do not match the destination of the race. E.g. Hockenheim is an international race> In this case one may decode to have the top 8 of the masters classes enter in the Hockenheim race. Further it helps to have people responsible for a class and that this person assures that the class is in pre start on time.

It also helps to have a crew in place or train the existing crew for speed and seek the balance between safety and speed.

Further, when it comes to brackets one should strive to follow NHRA/SFI timing windows. This makes it easier for the racer to prepare the vehicle for a certain class.

Street vehicles that run faster than 10,90 are there and there will be more of them every year. For the tuning market it is better to have bracket than index (like in the super classes) because one can always go full throttle rgeardsless the ET. This is better for the budget of a racer. Rules and classes get more complex anyway. In the US they even allow now in NHRA trubo & NOS or supercharger & NOS.

In OSL we have the time problem as well. Allowing 250 cars qualify and eliminate on one day. Using two days in stead would solve the problem though or racing in the evenings like the NOPI "Hot import nights". Can be good for all street classes. There should be some show though.
